Flood Insurance varies from area to area here in South Florida. #threeislands for instance lenders may require flood insurance however when buying in a high rise and if its a higher floor than this maybe something that may not be needed by the individual lender since the building has it. Townhomes and villas will probably need it due to the Association insurance may not cover it. Three Islands in Hallandale Beach is located #eastofUS1 and is considered in a flood zone. Basically most properties that are close to the Beaches would be in a floodzone. There is information at www.floodsmart.gov and you can always call the city of Hallandale for flood insurance advice.
